Computing at Hazel Slade Primary Academy

Our Computing Curriculum is taught from Foundation stage to Year 6 and children learn numerous skills. These skills are built upon year on year, until the end of Key Stage 2 where children will emerge accomplished in many aspects of computing.

All of these skills have real world applications and are designed to give our children the best chance at adopting computing

skills into their everyday lives.

We currently have an exciting time at Hazel Slade ahead of us as we begin our journey to become an apple school.  We now have more iPads and laptops available to all children across the key stages and these are taken directly into their classrooms.  The children all have a timetabled slot where they learn computing every week.  Classrooms are resourced with interactive whiteboards, laptops and a teaching PC, all of which are used to enhance children's learning.  Lunchtime and after school code clubs will soon be opening to support and deepen the skills our children have learnt in their lessons.

Please find below a video explaining our new computing curriculum across the school.
